The Kennel Club is now working with the 2 Keeshond Breed Clubs to promote and record the results of the PHPT DNA test and records results for all Keeshonds in the UK.
Once entered onto the KC database, all results will be recorded in the Breed Records Supplement, on the Keeshond’s registration certificate and any progeny certificates, and will appear on their website. The KC only needs information on Keeshonds that have actually been tested; once this is entered on their system, all their progeny which is automatically PHPT negative by descent will be recorded as such.
Normally, all DNA results would be automatically sent to the Kennel Club by the testing laboratory. However, the laboratory at Cornell University conducting the Keeshond PHPT test is not able to directly send any results to a third party. Therefore all results need to be submitted to the Kennel Club directly by the dog’s owner. Please send a copy/copies of your Keeshond/s PHPT Genetic Test Certificate from Cornell University with your name & address to The Kennel Club any of the 3 following ways:
1) As a scanned attachment to firstname.lastname@example.org
2) Fax a copy/copies to 0207 5181028
By going directly to Mate Select on the KC’s web site you can enter the name of any Keeshond & its PHPT status and the results of any other tests will be there.
